Meditation is the activity which will teach you to control your own self, and most importantly, control your mind. During the process of meditation you can learn how to make your mind stronger and increase your ability to concentrate. Once you start practicing meditation on a daily basis, the desire to eat something which will only harm your body will vanish completely, and you will not have to restrain yourself from not having something calorie-loaded which you enjoy having. Meditation will make you want to live a healthy lifestyle, rather than someone having to force it upon you. Some suggested factors to keep in mind before starting the process of meditation are as follows:
  • Locate a serene place, where you won't be disturbed.
  • Free your mind of all its worries.
  • Try to keep your meditation time the same, that is, if you meditate during the early hours of the morning, follow that routine.
  • Focus on only what you are doing. Do not let your mind wander.
  • Slow down your breathing by focusing on it.
  • Sit straight, so that your head, back, and your neck are all falling into a straight line.
Another method similar to meditation is that of yoga. Yoga is all about self learning, peacefulness, meditation, and self equilibrium. Yoga is the perfect exercising method for exercising the entire body. The different poses and stretches that yoga involves helps exercise each and every muscle in the body, giving an all-over workout to the body. This automatically burns a lot of calories, increases the rate of metabolism in the body, and helps you lose weight dramatically. Yoga can also help you achieve lean muscles as it involves slow and elongated movements and postures.

The concept of Reiki also explores weight lose as an emotional problem. Reiki believes that an overweight individual eats not to fill himself/herself, but to fill the feeling of emptiness or loneliness which is there inside.
